April Jones, LMFT
April is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working in the mental health field since 2007. She began her career as a Behavioral Therapist with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. She later was hired as a Clinical Social Worker in a Residential Treatment Center for at risk youth. She is currently the District Marriage and Family Therapist for Hemet Unified School District where she thrives as a member of the School Climate Transformation Team. This position allows her to travel around Southern California as an educational and motivational speaker; speaking on such topics as Building a District Wide Mental Health Program, Trauma Informed Care in the School Setting, Mental Health 101, Restorative Practices and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. April is extremely passionate about bringing mental health services to Public Education. April speaks at conferences all over the United States helping educators build Mental Health programs for ALL students. In her personal time she serves as the Vice Chair of the Behavioral Health Commission, as well as chairs the Legislative Committee for the Riverside County Department of Mental Health.
April graduated the Generations Church School of Ministry in 2016. April developed the I AM…Curriculum in 2012. April combined her mental health knowledge and Biblical, Spiritual Training to create a dynamic and powerful series that brings freedom, healing and breakthrough to people of all ages, dominations, cultures and spiritual maturity. The curriculum combines common therapeutic practices found in Family Systems Theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with Biblical principles to become confidently aware of our intended identity in Christ. I AM is designed to answer the question who am I by exploring our past, present and future experiences and pointing us towards God’s plan to use it all for our good.
She is a mother of 5 beautiful children and had her first grandchild in December of 2017. She serves every week at her church as the Administrative Coach for the Fresh Start team, as well as assists in the Guest Lounge, Source Center and Greeters. She is a member of the Woman's Committee and has taught classes in the School of Ministry, along with leading weekly classes such as Fresh Start and Get On.
